Christmas is a season for jolly gatherings, gift-giving, warm feasts, and spreading festivity along with good cheer. The spirit of Christmas was alive and thriving at IIMS College as BBA 2nd Semester students hosted the IIMS Jolly Christmas event on December 24, 2023. Dazzling Christmas decorations, hype-filled performances, mysterious Secret Santa, diverse student stalls, exciting games, and activities filled the IIMS Jolly Christmas with festive wonders.

Christmas Decor, Christmas Vibes

This Christmas season, the college was transformed into a winter wonderland. The Christmas garlands right from the college entrance, the twinkling lights hanging up the pathway, the snowflake decors all over the main ground, everything created a magical Christmas atmosphere. Also, everyone dressed up in their Christmas outfits added another festive touch to the event.

Student Stalls

In addition, the student stalls echoed Merry Christmas as the ground turned into a Christmas marketplace. Almost no one went hungry or empty-handed at the event! Accessories, plants, hoodies, and a tempting spread of momos, pickles, chips, hot chocolate, and brownies were all on offer. This eventually made a fun and satisfying experience for everyone.

Games and Fun

Furthermore, the game sessions in between kept everyone engaged. Mainly, the excitement aroused when Santa entered the ground. The hosts conducted quiz sessions and the winner received sweet treats from Santa itself. The musical chair game also became a highlight of the event, creating memorable moments and fostering a sense of togetherness among the participants.

Performances

One of the major highlights of the day, the performances were a show-stopper. The energetic dance performances got everyone dancing on their feet. The soothing singing performances were a delight to the ears. Besides, the audience singing along created an enthusiastic domino effect. Moreover, the band performances hyped everyone up ultimately creating a lively and upbeat atmosphere.

Secret Santa

The exciting surprise gift-giving part can’t be missed. Many people registered for the Secret Santa days before the event and now was the time to eagerly exchange those presents. As participants unwrapped their presents, smiles, and laughter filled the air.

IMS Jolly Christmas indeed created a jolly atmosphere. Everyone had a blast celebrating this wonderful season of Christmas. As the year came to a close, the memories of this festive day will undoubtedly remain. It will remind us of the joy that comes from coming together during the holiday season. May these memories continue to resonate, bringing smiles to our faces as we look forward to more joyful gatherings in the future.

IIMS College hosted the much-anticipated annual sports event, IIMS Khel Utsav 2024, on the 15th and 16th of March at the Army Physical Training and Sports Center. This grand annual festival brought together sports enthusiasts from all faculties of IIMS College. This was truly a celebration of sportsmanship and athleticism.

The festivities kicked off with great enthusiasm as participants and spectators assembled at the venue. After the general briefing, different individual and team games began to run simultaneously across various venue areas. Excitement spread all over the venue as students geared up for a weekend filled with thrilling matches.

Day 1 Highlights:

It was a sight to witness. The registration desks were all occupied by the students. Let’s look into how each game folded out.

Table tennis and badminton matches were in full swing at the indoor hall. At one table, a seemingly effortless rally went back and forth, accompanied by perfectly placed shots. On the other, a more tactical game was on play surrounded by a shifting crowd of students. The games became even more interesting as they approached the finals. In the end, Kushal Pandey and Ryan Shrestha from BCS battled against each other showcasing a thrilling finale match.

The courts echoed with the swift exchanges of shuttlecocks in the Badminton matches. The games were conducted until the quarter-finals on the first day. There were numerous intense matches that day. The energy was high as players battled for a spot in the quarterfinals.

The volleyball was a league battle. Every game mattered as teams fought for points that would move them up on the leaderboard. For the girls, three teams – BCS, BIHM, and BBA – kept battling, with BIHM and BBA neck-and-neck in the finals. Likewise, the boys’ games were full of amazing spikes and saves. However, their championship match had to wait until the next day.

The football pitch was a battleground of athleticism. Players showcased impressive footwork, dribbling past opponents with their moves, and unleashing powerful kicks that sent the ball soaring down the field. Team BBA reaching the semi-finals meant high fives for everyone and a round of cheers and group hugs! It was a moment of pure celebration and teamwork.

Day 2 Highlights:

The excitement continued into the second day of the Khel Utsav. The competitive enthusiasm reached new heights with the continuation of Badminton matches. It was truly a tough competition between the duo from BCS and the duo from BBA at the finals.

The basketball matches also saw electrifying clashes among the amazing teams.

Outdoors, the adrenaline-pumping action of volleyball and football persisted, captivating the audience with every move.

As these games were coming to an end, the focus shifted to the athletic arena. Here, participants showcased their speed, strength, and agility in a series of thrilling events. The crowd erupted into cheers as athletes sprinted towards the finish line in the 100m and 200m races, and launched themselves into the air in the long jump. The shot put game put everyone in shock as a student from BBA threw a record-breaking shot! The relay races added to the excitement, with teams pushing themselves to the limit in pursuit of victory.

Crowning the Champions

After a weekend filled with exhilarating matches, IIMS Khel Utsav 2024 culminated in a spectacular closing ceremony. The champions of each individual and team game were proudly declared, each receiving a well-deserved round of applause and a token of their victory. The energy remained high as the most anticipated announcement of the event approached – the winner of the Running Shield. This prestigious award, bestowed upon the department with the highest number of medals across all disciplines, serves as the ultimate symbol of dominance at IIMS Khel Utsav. Finally, BCS was declared the overall champion!
