Our BIHM students have successfully launched Taylor’s Shawarma Corner, a student-led initiative under the Hospitality Project Management module, transforming classroom learning into meaningful real-world experience. The venture was developed following an intensive Shawarma Making Workshop guided by Chef Dipak Dhungana. Through the workshop, students gained in-depth knowledge of authentic Shawarma preparation, seasoning techniques, food safety practices, and professional kitchen operations.

During the launch event, students took full responsibility for planning, preparation, and service, offering a variety of freshly made shawarmas crafted with skill and creativity. From ingredient preparation and cooking to customer interaction and service coordination, students applied the techniques and operational knowledge they had learned throughout the sessions. The initiative provided valuable hands-on exposure to real hospitality operations, helping students strengthen teamwork, communication, time management, and customer service skills in a live working environment.

Taylor’s Shawarma Corner not only showcased the culinary talents of the students but also demonstrated their ability to manage a functioning food venture from concept to execution. The experience enhanced their confidence, leadership abilities, and industry readiness, reflecting the practical and experiential learning approach promoted by the college. Faculty members, students, and visitors actively participated in the event, supporting the young hospitality professionals and celebrating their successful achievement.
