IIMS College, successfully organized a two-day guest session on Financial Literacy: Quant Systems and Trading-Cognition for students of the Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) programme. The session was led by Mr. Nir Kedem, Founder and Speaker at Quant Kid Academy, who brought his extensive expertise and unique perspective on the intersection of finance, data, technology, and human behavior.
The guest session provided students with an engaging platform to explore the evolving world of modern finance and trading. Through interactive discussions and real-world examples, Mr. Kedem introduced students to the fundamental concepts of quantitative trading systems, highlighting how data analysis, algorithms, and statistical models are increasingly shaping decision-making processes in financial markets.
A major focus of the session was the importance of financial literacy as a critical life skill. Students gained valuable insights into financial awareness, risk management, investment strategies, and the significance of making informed financial decisions in today’s dynamic economic environment. The session encouraged participants to develop a deeper understanding of financial systems and the practical application of financial knowledge in both personal and professional contexts.

In addition, Mr. Kedem explored the concept of trading cognition, emphasizing the psychological aspects of financial decision-making. Students learned how emotions, biases, behavioral patterns, and cognitive processes influence decision-making in trading and investment environments. The discussions provided a comprehensive understanding of the balance between analytical reasoning and human psychology in achieving effective financial outcomes.
The guest session served as a valuable learning experience for our BCS students, further strengthening their understanding of interdisciplinary fields that combine technology, finance, and human behavior. It also reflected IIMS College’s continued commitment to providing students with industry exposure and experiential learning opportunities that prepare them for the evolving demands of the global workforce.
