Residential Workshop | Nurturing Innovative Technopreneurship for MBA and MCS Students

IIMS College held a Residential Workshop on Nurturing Innovative Technopreneurship from August 16 to 18 at the Trishuli Riverside Resort. This was a transformative experience for our MBA & MCS March 2024 Cohort students. Moreover, this workshop awarded an exclusive international certification program facilitated by Erasmus and the European Union. 

The main objective of the workshop was to equip our students with innovative thinking and entrepreneurial skills. It furthermore offered them a unique opportunity to explore new dimensions of entrepreneurship in a collaborative environment. Additionally, expert trainers guided them through engaging sessions and activities. They also provided them with the knowledge and tools necessary to become successful technopreneurs.

Key Highlights of the Workshop:

Erasmus Certification:

Firstly, the workshop was part of the Erasmus+ ENCORE project, an international initiative aimed at nurturing entrepreneurship in higher education.

Innovative Business Ideas:

Likewise, this workshop offered our MBA and MCS students a platform to reflect on and present their entrepreneurial spirit. Students generated creative business ideas, including the Mobilization of Household Women, Elderjoy Homes, Guide Nepal, Go Visit, Community-Based Agro Tourism, EZ-Parking, and Mamatko Sparsha.

Pitching and Business Model Canvas

Meanwhile, students got to hone their pitching skills when presenting their innovative business ideas. They also learned to develop robust business models using the Business Model Canvas framework.

Expert Guidance

Renowned trainers Sunetra Pradhanang and Avinash Shrestha, certified by Erasmus+, provided valuable insights and mentorship. This furthermore enhanced our MBA and MCS students’ experience and learning.

Leadership Presence

The academic directors from diverse faculties also graced the workshop with their presence and guidance. Dipankar Sherpa (WMBA Director), Satyendra Upreti (MBA Director), Monica Regmi (MCS Co-ordinator), and Brihat Singh Boswa (BBA/GDS Director) guided the students throughout the session.

Multiplier Effect: Spreading Entrepreneurial Knowledge

The workshop also included a multiplier event focused on “Innovative Entrepreneurship.” This session aimed to disseminate the knowledge and skills gained by participants to a wider audience. This focused on contributing to the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nepal.

By participating in this workshop, our MBA and MCS students have taken a significant step toward realizing their entrepreneurial aspirations. The skills and knowledge acquired will undoubtedly empower them to create innovative solutions and contribute to the economic development of Nepal.
