Session on Fighting Corruption Measures Held for BIHM Students

IIMS College organised an insightful session titled “Fighting Corruption” for the BIHM January 2026 Intake students. The session focused on the importance of understanding corruption, the systems established to prevent it, and the role of individuals and institutions in promoting transparency and accountability.

The session was led by Ms. Arpana Kunwor, Section Officer at Kathmandu District Court, who shared valuable insights into reporting mechanisms and the processes involved in addressing corruption. Her practical knowledge and professional experience provided students with a deeper understanding of how institutional systems work to support accountability.

A key focus of the session was whistleblower protection, highlighting the importance of creating safe and reliable channels through which individuals can report wrongdoing. Students learned about the role of protection mechanisms in encouraging people to speak up and contribute to the prevention and reporting of corruption.

The session also discussed government-led prevention strategies and the importance of strong systems, safeguards, and institutional mechanisms in fighting corruption. These discussions helped students understand how coordinated efforts and effective policies can contribute to building a more transparent and accountable society.

The session provided BIHM students with an opportunity to connect their academic learning with real-world perspectives on governance, accountability, and ethical responsibility. IIMS College extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Arpana Kunwor for sharing her valuable knowledge and insights with the students.
