A 5-Day Overleaf Workshop for BCS students, guided by Ms. Salma Tamang, AI Researcher, with the objective of enhancing students’ academic writing and research documentation skills through practical, hands-on training.
The workshop introduced students to Overleaf as a modern tool for academic writing, helping them move beyond the limitations of traditional word processors. Throughout the sessions, participants were guided step by step on how to structure research papers in a professional format, maintain consistency in formatting, and organize content in a clear and logical manner.

A major focus of the training was citation management, where students learned how to insert, format, and manage references efficiently without confusion. This helped them understand how proper citation practices improve the credibility and quality of academic work. Students also gained experience in creating well-structured documents that meet academic standards for assignments, reports, and future research projects.
The workshop emphasized practical learning, allowing students to actively apply each concept through real-time exercises. This hands-on approach helped them build confidence in using Overleaf and improved their overall understanding of research writing workflows.
