IIMS Khel Maidan 2026: A Journey of Moments, Matches and Memories

The event began with a formal ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony, marking the official start of IIMS Khel Maidan 2026. Students, organizers, and guests gathered together with excitement and enthusiasm to begin the games. The atmosphere was lively and full of energy as everyone came together to celebrate sports and teamwork. It was a proud moment for the college, as the event reflected strong sportsmanship, unity and college spirit right from the beginning.

Six teams participated in the games, each led by their batch leaders, and they competed with each other with great energy and determination throughout the event. The teams were:

  • Madhesh Hornbills – Bishal Maharjan (BCS 1st Year)
  • Bagmati Griffins – Sumit Rayamajhi (BIHM)
  • Gandaki Danphes – Shashank Pandey (BCS 2nd Year)
  • Lumbini Skylarks – Anmol Adhikari (BCS 3rd Year)
  • Karnali Owls – Subit Timalsina (BCS 4th Year)
  • Sudurpaschim Ravens – Maniraj Maharjan (BBUS)

The 5K marathon, which kicked off the inauguration, set the tone for the games as runners demonstrated endurance and perseverance, racing with focus and determination to cross the finish line.

In table tennis, players showed amazing quick reflexes and accurate shots, combining strategy and skill to make every game exciting and full of energy. In shot put, competitors demonstrated great strength and precision, aiming for maximum distance with every throw and giving their best effort to outperform each other. Long jump athletes displayed speed, power, and perfect technique, with each jump reflecting their dedication as they strived to achieve personal bests.

The swimming 50-meter races were fast and full of energy, with swimmers showing strong strokes, good speed, and powerful finishes in every race. Each participant gave their best in the water, making the competition close and exciting to watch.

The 100-meter and 200-meter races were filled with speed and determination, as runners pushed themselves from the start to the finish line. Quick starts, steady pace, and strong finishes made every race competitive, keeping the crowd engaged and cheering throughout.

In football, the matches were intense and full of energy, with fast passes, strong tackles, and spectacular goals keeping the audience cheering throughout. The games were held at the Army Physical Training & Sports Center, Lagankhel, where teams gave their best and competed with great determination.

Basketball, Cricksal, and volleyball matches were full of energy and excitement throughout the event. In basketball, players showed fast movement, quick passes, and accurate shots, making every moment on the court competitive and engaging. Cricksal matches brought a unique mix of skills, where teams used smart strategy, quick thinking, and teamwork to score and defend, keeping the game interesting from start to finish.

In volleyball, powerful spikes, quick saves, and strong coordination between players made every rally intense and enjoyable to watch. Each team worked together with great effort, making the matches close and competitive, while the crowd stayed fully involved, cheering and enjoying every moment of the game.

Badminton doubles matches were fast and engaging, with lightning-quick smashes, sharp reflexes, and excellent coordination between partners, making each point a battle of skill and focus. In the 4×100 meter relay race, teams displayed incredible speed, precise baton exchanges, and perfect coordination, creating high-energy moments as they raced toward the finish line.

Every participant, whether in individual or group games, gave their best, making the event a remarkable success. Kudos to every student and team for their dedication, effort, and team spirit that made IIMS Khel Maidan 2026 truly memorable.

Congratulations to Karnali Owls for winning the running shield at IIMS Khel Maidan 2026. Your teamwork, effort, and strong performance made you the true champions. Well done to all the other teams as well for their hard work and competitive spirit throughout the tournament. With the closing ceremony completed, the event ends on a great note, leaving behind many exciting memories and moments of sportsmanship.
