IIMS College recently hosted an intensive AI & ML Bootcamp: From Theory to Practice, from June 10th to 20th, 2024. This successful bootcamp aimed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This bootcamp provided students with the foundation for deep learning concepts and techniques. It ensured that the participating students were well-equipped to tackle the challenges on the main Hackathon Day.
The bootcamp provided a comprehensive learning experience divided into three phases:
Students participated in a series of structured sessions designed to build a solid foundation in AI and ML concepts, tools, and practices. The bootcamp included three two-hour phases with hands-on training and study resources provided to enhance learning and prepare participants for the subsequent hackathon.
This was a fantastic opportunity for students to enhance their skills, collaborate with peers, and increase their chances of success in the competition.
Phase 1: Introduction to the Bootcamp and Hackathon
This phase dived into what hackathon is all about and provided an overview of the hackathon process. It introduced students to valuable study resources and offered insights into the benefits of participation.
Phase 2: Study Resources and Hands-on Training
This phase provided hands-on training, focusing on Python programming for AI & ML. Students learned how to use Git for version control and efficient code management. and developing ML models using PyTorch and Google Colab. It equipped students with the fundamentals of PyTorch, a powerful deep-learning framework. Students explored key areas like tensor manipulation, data handling, model building, and optimization.
Phase 3: Preparation for the Hackathon
This session delved into advanced AI & ML topics, equipping students with effective project management and teamwork skills. Additionally, the session offered valuable guidance on approaching the hackathon challenges with confidence.
By participating in the bootcamp, students gained a strong foundation in AI & ML concepts, tools, and practices. This intensive training prepares them not only for the hackathon but also for future endeavors in the ever-evolving field of AI & ML.
