On 27th June 2025, the BIHM students of the September 2023 intake embarked on an insightful industry visit to Barahsinghe Yak Brewing Company, one of Nepal’s most renowned craft beer producers. This educational trip was designed to expose students to the practical workings of the beverage industry, offering them a chance to observe, question, and learn beyond the confines of the classroom.

During the visit, students were guided through the entire brewing process, from the selection of raw ingredients and fermentation methods to bottling and packaging. They also learned about Barahsinghe’s unique approach to branding, sustainability practices, and quality control mechanisms. The team at Yak Brewing was welcoming and eager to share their expertise, providing in-depth explanations and engaging with students’ queries on both the technical and managerial aspects of the business. Moreover, the visit shed light on how local companies like Barahsinghe are maintaining international standards while promoting Nepal’s rich culture through their products. The students came away with a deeper appreciation of the effort and innovation behind beverage production and its vital role within the broader hospitality sector.
