Our BIHM September 2025 Intake students gained valuable industry insights during an insightful session titled “From Idea to Shelf: The Reality of Building a Food Brand.” The session featured Ms. Sweta Pandey, Co-founder & CEO of Bhola Foods, who shared her experiences and perspectives on the journey of building and growing a food brand.
The session provided students with a deeper understanding of the realities behind transforming a food business idea into a product that reaches the market. Moving beyond the conceptual stage, the discussion explored the different challenges, decisions, and considerations involved in developing a food brand and bringing products from an initial idea to the shelf.
Through real-world examples and industry perspectives, students gained insights into the entrepreneurial journey within the food industry, including the importance of vision, resilience, innovation, and strategic decision-making. The session also highlighted the challenges entrepreneurs face while developing products, building a brand, understanding the market, and creating a sustainable business.

For students pursuing Bachelor of International Hospitality Management (BIHM), the session served as a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world business experiences. It encouraged students to look beyond traditional hospitality roles and explore the diverse opportunities available within the food, beverage, and entrepreneurial sectors.
The interaction also gave students the opportunity to gain practical perspectives from an industry professional and understand the realities of building a food brand in a competitive market. The insights shared during the session helped students better appreciate the effort, commitment, and strategic thinking required to turn an idea into a successful food business.
