Understanding databases is a fundamental step in every computer science student’s journey. Keeping this in focus, IIMS College organized a “Database Basic Query” session for Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons.) – Sept. 2025 Intake students, led by Mr. Subash Adhikari.
The session introduced students to the core concepts of database management and the fundamentals of SQL, providing them with a solid understanding of how data is stored, retrieved, and managed efficiently. Students explored essential SQL commands, learned how to write basic queries, filter and sort data, and gained practical insights into the role of databases in modern software development and information systems.
Through interactive discussions and hands-on demonstrations, participants developed a deeper understanding of database operations and their real-world applications. The practical nature of the session encouraged students to apply theoretical concepts while enhancing their analytical and problem-solving skills, preparing them for more advanced coursework and future industry projects.
The session also highlighted the growing importance of database management in today’s technology-driven world, emphasizing its relevance across software engineering, web development, data analytics, and enterprise applications. By learning the fundamentals of SQL and database querying, students took an important step toward building the technical competencies required in the IT industry.
