Unison Retro Fusion is a grand annual event aimed to celebrate the vibrant community of IIMS bringing everyone together for a day of nostalgia and unity. It aims to unite faculty members from all disciplines to celebrate each other’s achievements and promote a sense of belonging.
Unison Retro Fusion took place on August 23rd at Busy Bee Cafe. Organized by the BBA 7th Semester students, this year’s edition was a spectacular success, transporting attendees back in time to iconic decades. Moreover, the event created an immersive experience as guests embodied the culture, fashion, and entertainment of the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. The event also featured a photo booth area with retro-themed backdrops for the guests to capture memories.
The Celebration Begins
As everyone gathered in the venue, the environment transformed into a vibrant hub of retro-themed excitement. Everyone were eager to connect with their friends, make new memories, and immerse themselves in the nostalgic atmosphere. The anticipation was palpable as the crowd eagerly awaited the start of the festivities. Finally, the emcee of the evening stepped onto the stage, her voice echoing through the venue. With a graceful smile, she then welcomed everyone to Unison Retro Fusion, setting the tone for a day of unforgettable experiences.

Let’s Test the Unity through Telepathy Game
In a thrilling telepathy game, two teams competed with each other putting their team unity to the test. The winning team received free movie tickets from QFX Chaya Center.
Opening Band Performance
Moving on, the Verse started the event with a soothing and – music connecting everyone.
Mr & Ms IIMS Contest
It was now time for the most significant part of the event, the Mr. & Ms. IIMS Contest. The 14 contestants competed for the titles based on their personality, talent, performance, and overall charisma. The contest included multiple rounds, such as introduction, ramp walk, and Q&A sessions, which were judged by a panel of esteemed judges. Out of them, the contestants garnering the most votes won the Public Choice Award and entered straight into the Top 3. Then, the emcee announced the Runner Up and finally the most awaited Mr. & Ms. IIMS.
Energetic Dance Performances
Students wowed the audience with captivating dance routines featuring a remix of evergreen Bollywood tunes and trendy songs.
The Headliner – Pariwartan Band
Pariwartan Band was the highlight of the show, from original songs to popular old songs, everyone was jamming to the enjoyable vibes that the band created.
Young Talent – The Resonance Nepal
The Resonance Nepal took over the stage captivating everyone with their soulful voice and catchy songs.
UNISON Retro Fusion – A Wrap
Executing UNISON Retro Fusion was a dream come true. The event was successfully conducted with the vision to unite everyone. From the entertaining performances, and lively music to the glamorous Mr. & Ms. IIMS contest, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The event would not have been possible without audience members, organizing team members, faculty members, and partners. This UNISON Retro Fusion is just the beginning.
