Day 1 of the Turboline x IIMS Hackathon 2025 kicked off with a vibrant energy that filled every corner of the campus. This year’s event brought together 57 teams and over 170 participants from 8 nations and 19 institutions around the world. The atmosphere was electric as international judges, local mentors, and tech enthusiasts gathered for this global celebration of creativity and innovation. From the crack of dawn, lively conversations echoed through the halls as teams registered, exchanged ideas, and prepared for three days of intense coding, collaboration, and friendly competition, setting the perfect stage for an unforgettable hackathon experience.
A Grand Opening: Setting the Stage
The day started with a lively opening ceremony, where the spirit of innovation was truly in the air. Mr. Rabin Thapa, Academic Director of IIMS College, gave an inspiring speech that set the tone for the event and energized the crowd. Our friends from Turboline.ai joined us, with Mr. Manas Madbari, Head of Business Development, delivering a motivating address that encouraged everyone to make the most of the hackathon experience. The highlight of the morning was a special appearance by national tennis star Mahika Rana, who shared her journey and inspired participants to bring their best to the challenge ahead.

After a hearty breakfast and some informal networking, teams wasted no time getting down to business. Laptops opened, ideas started flying, and the hackathon floor quickly filled with the sounds of brainstorming and rapid typing. Whether it was building new models, designing wireframes, or just sharing a laugh over coffee, the energy was contagious. Throughout the day, participants enjoyed plenty of snacks, good company, and the occasional pep talk from mentors. The coding sessions were intense but fun, with teams pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box. Mentors and organizers could be seen moving from table to table, offering advice, encouragement, and the occasional high-five.
