On September 5th, 2024, the IIMS Toastmasters Club celebrated Teej with great enthusiasm. It was the club’s 85th meeting and it was conducted on the theme “Teej Treasure”. The club members were dressed in vibrant shades of red, green, and yellow, adding a festive touch to the occasion.
A Warm Welcome and Shared Wishes
The Toastmaster of the Day, TM Archana Tamang, began the meeting with warmth and enthusiasm. As she shared about the festival Teej, she gathered everyone to share what their wishes were for the festive season. The members expressed their hopes and aspirations, creating a heartwarming atmosphere. Laughter echoed throughout the room when members teased each other, such as, “TM Ishleen will gift me a bike now”, says TM Subash.
Icebreaker and Table Topics
TM Ishleen Singh Virdi gave her first-ever speech, the icebreaker speech, expressing all about herself. Everyone got to know about TM Ishleen even more after her speech. Then, came the most exciting session, the Table Topics Session, led by the wonderful Table Topics Master, TM Nilisha Shrestha. She brought interesting topics and challenged members to think on their feet and deliver impromptu speeches.
A Dance-Off and Friendly Competition
To add to the festive spirit, the TMoD had prepared something special. It was a spontaneous Teej dance face-off, in which club members were divided into two teams. It was extremely fun witnessing this lively dance face-off to a popular Teej song. Lastly, the team that received the loudest cheers from the audience emerged as the winner.
General Evaluation Session
The General Evaluation Session brought key feedback necessary to improve the meeting. TM Smriti Bajracharya led the session as the General Evaluator and called upon her team of direct and indirect evaluators. TM Simran from Brihaspati Toastmasters Club joined in as a direct evaluator for the speaker. She created a connection with the speaker by talking about the shared roots and offered valuable advice. Then, the indirect evaluators presented their reports turn by turn. Finally, the General Evaluator gave thorough and detailed feedback on the entire meeting.
A Memorable 85th Meeting
This 85th meeting of the IIMS Toastmasters Club was a delightful blend of learning, fun, and camaraderie. From the insightful featured speech to the interactive Table Topics session, the members had the opportunity to hone their public speaking skills and express themselves confidently. The dance-off and other activities added an extra dose of fun to the event. It was a beautiful fusion of festivity and fostering personal growth.
A Day to Remember
The Teej celebration at IIMS Toastmasters Club was a memorable experience for all. It was a day filled with laughter, friendship, and a shared love for self-development. The club members left the event feeling inspired and energized, it was definitely a Teej Treasure at IIMS Toastmasters Club.
