Innovation with Impact: IIMS Teams Earn Global Praise at CASE 2025

RANLP

We are thrilled to announce that four teams from the Bachelor of Computer Science program at IIMS College have achieved remarkable success in the Shared Task on Multimodal Hate, Humor, and Stance Detection in Marginalized Movements @ CASE 2025.

Among these talented teams, the group comprising Sujal Maharjan, Astha Shrestha, and Sagar Budhathoki made an extraordinary mark by securing 3rd place, standing out among global participants from over 30 countries. Their solution demonstrated not only strong technical skill but also a deep understanding of the complex socio-political narratives embedded in text and multimodal data.

The team’s research paper has been accepted for presentation at The 8th Workshop on Challenges and Applications of Automated Extraction of Socio-political Events from Text (CASE 2025), which will be held during RANLP 2025 in Varna, Bulgaria. All accepted papers will be published in the prestigious ACL Anthology, marking a significant academic milestone for our students.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participating teams for their hard work, creativity, and perseverance. Your achievements continue to inspire our academic community and demonstrate what is possible when talent meets opportunity. This accomplishment highlights the increasing presence of IIMS College in international research forums and reaffirms our commitment to fostering innovation, research excellence, and global engagement.
