IIMS College organized an enriching session on “Wine Knowledge for Hospitality Professionals” for Bachelor of International Hospitality Management (BIHM) students. The session was conducted by Mr. Sajol Chitrakar, Business Development Manager at Vesper Wines, who shared his extensive industry expertise and practical knowledge with aspiring hospitality professionals.
The session aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the role of wine knowledge within the hospitality industry and its significance in delivering exceptional guest experiences. Drawing from his professional experience, Mr. Chitrakar introduced students to the fundamentals of wine culture, the history and evolution of wine, various types and classifications of wines, and the essential principles of professional wine service.
Throughout the session, students explored key aspects of wine service standards, including proper serving techniques, presentation, storage practices, and the importance of understanding customer preferences. Mr. Chitrakar also discussed the growing relevance of beverage knowledge in the hospitality sector and how specialized expertise can enhance service quality and create memorable dining experiences for guests.
The interactive session encouraged students to engage in discussions and gain practical insights into industry expectations and professional standards.
