In celebration of World Environment Day, the students of IIMS College actively participated in a Tree Plantation Program held at Changunarayan Municipality, Ward No. 2. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Federation of Community Forestry Users Nepal (FECOFUN) and the local Ward Office. The event was part of a broader effort to promote environmental sustainability, instill eco-conscious values in youth, and contribute meaningfully to the local community.
Students enthusiastically planted saplings across selected areas, learning about native tree species and the ecological importance of afforestation. This hands-on environmental activity was more than just a symbolic gesture; it was a powerful step toward real change. As part of the larger IIMS Impact movement, a campaign led by IIMS College to give back to the community and contribute to environmental healing, this initiative reinforced the college’s strong commitment to building a responsible and aware generation.

Following the plantation program, the students went on a peaceful hike from the historic Changunarayan Temple to Telkot. Along the route, they were able to enjoy the serene natural surroundings, reflect on the significance of conservation, and discuss ways to take further steps in their daily lives to protect the environment. The hike provided not just physical activity, but also an opportunity for connection, with nature, with peers, and with a larger environmental cause.
This meaningful day of service and reflection highlighted the importance of collective action, especially among young people. It demonstrated how academic institutions like IIMS College can extend learning beyond the classroom and foster real-world impact. Events like these contribute to building a generation that understands the urgency of environmental protection and is prepared to lead efforts for sustainable change.
Through IIMS Impact, the college continues to encourage students to become agents of positive transformation in society. The Tree Plantation Program and the hike to Telkot were a testament to the belief that every small action matters, and when done together, those actions can grow into a movement
