We are delighted to share that a research paper authored by students from IIMS College has been officially accepted at the Workshop on Challenges in Processing South Asian Languages (CHiPSAL 2025). This workshop is co-located with the 31st International Conference on Computational Linguistics (COLING 2025), one of the most respected gatherings in the field of computational linguistics.
The paper, titled “Nepali Transformers@NLU of Devanagari Script Languages 2025: Detection of Language, Hate Speech and Targets”, was written by IIMS BCS students Bikram KC and Sandesh Shrestha. Their work addresses key challenges in processing Devanagari script languages, such as Nepali, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Marathi, and Sanskrit, with a focus on online safety and content moderation.
