Our BCS recently participated in a session on Reporting Mechanisms and Whistleblower Protection led by Mr. Umanga Niraula, Public Prosecutor at the Office of the Attorney General. The session aimed to provide students with a deeper understanding of how legal systems uphold truth, transparency, and accountability in society.
During the session, Mr. Niraula discussed the key frameworks that protect whistleblowers and ensure safe reporting of unethical practices. He highlighted real-world examples of reporting mechanisms, the challenges faced by those who speak out, and the critical role of law in protecting voices that promote transparency. Students were encouraged to think critically about ethical practices and the importance of accountability in both public and private sectors.

The interactive session also gave students the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions, making it a practical learning experience beyond the classroom. By the end of the session, students left with a clear perspective on how legal protections work in practice and how they can contribute to a culture of integrity and transparency in their future careers.
