My Journey of Learning, Growth and Memorable Experiences

Hi, I’m Lajana Maharjan and I’m currently studying in my sixth semester at IIMS College, located in Dhobidhara, Kathmandu. I still remember my first day, the nervous excitement, meeting new classmates and stepping into a place that would soon feel like home. I’m also proud to be a scholarship holder at IIMS, which has motivated me to work hard and make the most of my college journey.

Alongside my studies, I work as a Social Media Intern at Unic Digital Solutions, a digital marketing company that handles all digital marketing activities for IIMS College, Lincoln International College and Aranya Boutique Hotel. Being both a student and part of the team that shares our college story with the world has been a unique experience. I get to enjoy college life while also showing others what makes IIMS so special.

Through this blog, I want to share my journey at IIMS, an amazing chapter of my life full of learning, growth and unforgettable memories. Let me take you through my enriching experience at this wonderful institution.

Stepping into IIMS College feels like entering a family. The environment is warm, friendly and supportive. The faculty and seniors are always there to guide and encourage us. The college’s commitment to high-quality education and holistic learning module ensures that we not only do well academically but are also prepared for life beyond the classroom. Every interaction, whether with classmates during projects, faculty during guidance sessions or seniors during events has taught me the value of teamwork, empathy and shared growth.

Even in the workplace, the atmosphere at Unic Digital Solution is warm and welcoming. As an intern, I’ve experienced a friendly and supportive environment where everyone works together, helps each other and shows respect. This makes my journey not only easier but also more meaningful, as I get to learn and grow alongside people who genuinely care.

College life isn’t just about studying, it’s also about making memories that last a lifetime. At IIMS, there are many events, workshops and celebrations that bring all together. I have had the chance to organize and volunteer in events like Fresh Mart, Jolly Christmas, IIMS Holi Blast 9.0, and the Open House Carnival 1.0 and 2.0.

Holi Blast 9.0 has been my most memorable experience so far. Being part of the event and seeing it succeed was amazing. I also cherish my first-semester dance performance at a college event, a small moment that still makes me smile. Every event at IIMS gives us a chance to work together, learn new things and create memories that make college life truly special.

At IIMS, learning goes beyond books. Through workshops, seminars, projects and industry visits, we get to experience real-world learning that brings knowledge to life. It’s not just a place where I learn from books only, it’s a space that encourages me to grow academically, professionally and personally.

One field visit that really stood out was our trip to Thangpal Gaupalika. We did research, collected data, and met people one-on-one. We even had the chance to meet the heads of the Gaupalika and municipality. It was an amazing experience that taught me a lot about community, leadership, and practical problem-solving.

I’ve also attended guest lectures and workshops on Excel, Digital Marketing, and Fashion Integration with AI, which added more learning, fun, and memories to my journey. Each experience here is shaping me into a capable and ready professional for the future.

Working as a social media managing intern has also been another priceless experience. I’ve learned how to manage deadlines, plan creative content, organize my time and communicate effectively, all skills that complement my academic learning. This internship is also a great way to balance work and studies while learning real-world skills.

Looking back at my journey, I feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a wonderful institution. Life at IIMS College has been full of learning, growth, and unforgettable experiences. From the supportive environment and engaging events to workshops, field visits and professional opportunities, every moment has helped me gain skills and confidence.

Being part of this college family has shaped me not only academically but also personally, helping me become a capable, responsible and adaptable professional. Every day at IIMS has been a chance to learn, contribute and grow, making this experience truly special. As I look ahead, I’m excited to use these lessons, memories and skills to face new challenges and opportunities with confidence.
