Trendy Talks is an event, where the participants talk about topics that are new and trending. The purpose of the event is to generate awareness about trending topics. The participants are provided with exactly 2 minutes time to share their knowledge about any topic.
Furthermore, in order to participate, one needs to make a (slide) presentation video (screen captured) within the 2 minutes time frame. The topic for 2 minutes video presentation could be anything from Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, Edge Computing, Flat Organization Structures, Importance of Soft Skills in professional life, Remote and Flexi Working, Do It Yourself Vs Outsourcing, Future of Hospitality Industry in Nepal, Automation & Robotics in Hospitality Industry, Safety and Hygiene post-COVID, Handling the Millennial Customers or any other.Other Details about the Event/ Competition Include:
Who can participate in the event?
➢ All students as well as graduates of IIMS Education Foundation (IIMS, ACHS, LIC)
can participate in the competition.
What kind of presentation video would be appropriate to participate in the event?
➢ Any presentation videos about new and trending topics in the industry can be
considered. Industry-relevant topics like Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, Quantum
Computing, Edge Computing, Data Analytics, Flat Organization Structures,
Importance of Soft Skills in professional life, Remote, and Flexi Working Do It
Yourself Vs Outsourcing, Employee-Centric Organization, Future of Hospitality
Industry in Nepal, Automation & Robotics in Hospitality Industry, Safety and
Hygiene post-COVID, Handling the Millennial Customers to any other can be taken
up as topics to prepare for the video presentation.
➢ The video needs to be exactly 2 minutes. The whole idea is to see how the
participants can utilize these 2 minutes to convey crucial and relevant information
within a limited time frame that too in a manner which can be understood by the
audience.
➢ Also, the participants need to make sure that the video (presentation video) is not
edited in-between the 2 minutes while the presentation is being recorded.
➢ Also, the participants need to bear in mind that the videos are to be uploaded in
college’s social media handles, so the content should be a relevant one, which can
be published. Videos that are offensive and that might hamper the integrity shall
not be considered eligible to participate in the competition.

What about the presentation tool to be used and the number of slides?
➢ Participants are free to use any presentation preparation tool. It is suggested to
choose a tool that helps you prepare slides in an attractive as well as informative
manner.
➢ There is no restriction in the number of slides to be used for the presentation. As
long as the presentation video is of 2 minutes length, whatever number of slides can
be used for the presentation.
How to participate in the event?
➢ In order to participate, you need to send your screen-captured compiled video and
presentation by filling up a form providing all necessary details. The form’s link is
as follows:

➢ Along with the video, the participants are also required to send a brief description
of the video they have prepared. The description should not exceed more than
300 words and it is to be provided while filling up the form.
➢ The description could have your basic details like name, program, batch, what the
video is about, and other relevant information.
➢ Furthermore, the participants are also required to add Intro and Outro to their
videos.

Do I have to create the Intro of the video?
➢ Participants are not required to prepare the Intro section. The Intro part for the
video will be provided by the organizers (college). The participants need to add the
Intro section in the video they prepare before submitting.

What about the Outro of the video?
➢ The Outro of the video is to be prepared by the participants themselves. Outro could
be credit roll, acknowledging and thanking everyone who helped in the video
preparation or any other relevant details.

Can I seek for help to prepare the slides and video?
➢ Yes.
➢ As the idea is to provide a platform for the participants to share their knowledge
about new and trendy topics, participants can seek help for slide preparation and
video recording & editing (incorporating Intro) purposes.

Where will the competition be held?
➢ The platform for the competition is Facebook. However, the videos can also be
published on other social media platforms like Instagram, Instagram, and others for
the promotion of the event. However, the winner of the competition will be decided
based upon the user interaction in the Facebook platform.How will the winner be decided?
➢ There are two categories for winners to be decided. One via audience interaction
and the other via points provided by the jury members.

➢ Jury Members:
The Jury Members will judge the participants based on the following four
categories, each having 25 points:
o Creativity of Slides
o Presentation/ Public Speaking Skills
o Relevance/ Significance of Topic and the Content
o Depth and Understandability of the Content being Delivered

➢ Audience Interaction:
The winner of the competition based upon audience interaction will be decided
based upon the user interaction in the Facebook platform. Each video will be getting
2 points for each Like and 5 points for each Share. The participant with the
maximum point will be decided the winner.

What will the winner get?
➢ The winner(s) will be getting attractive gift hampers, which will be revealed
through the social media handles in due course of time.
When is the deadline for video submission?
➢ All videos are to be submitted by the 12th of July, 2021 (Monday).
When will the videos be posted?
➢ The videos will be uploaded on the 15th of July, 2021 (Thursday).
How many days will there be for voting?
➢ Voting/ User Interaction till the 23rd of July, 2021 (Thursday) [12:00 Noon] will
be accepted.
Are there chances that the video that I submit gets disqualified from participation in
the event?
➢ The videos might be disqualified in the following cases:
o The video is less than or greater than 2 minutes
o There is no Intro (provided by the organizer) in the video that is submitted
for participation
o The video (2 minutes) is not taken (screen captured) in one shot and is
edited in-between the 2 minutes
o The description of the video is not provided
o The video has sexist, smoking, drinking, drug abuse, sexual, harassing,
social disbalance causing or any other irrelevant content
*The video submitted will be the property of the college and the college has the full
authority to publish the video in its channel (IIMS Creations) and other social media
handles
*Also, the college bears the full authority to decide what to publish and what not to. Any
inappropriate and irrelevant content shall not be allowed to participate in the event and
be published in its social media handles (without prior notice to the participants)
