IIMS Mobile Photography Contest 2021

IIMS Mobile lockdown Photography Photo Contest begins Sun, 4th July 2021 and ends Mon 12th July,
2021 at 5:00 PM. By submitting an entry, each participant agrees to the rules of the contest. All winners
will be announced via the college's website and social sites on Thurs, 18th July 2021.
Who can Participate:
All students, faculty & staff of IIMS College are welcome to submit images. All entries must be submitted
via the upload form shared on the contest page.Prizes:
For each category listed below, two winners will be announced. The winners will receive an attractive gift
hampers, which will be revealed once the event evaluation is finalized.
Photo Categories:
Each submission must belong to exactly one of the following categories.
A. Contemporary Issues
Single picture documenting cultural, political, or social issues affecting individuals or societies.
B. Nature & Environment
Single picture showing flora, fauna, and landscapes in their natural state or documenting human
impact, positive or negative, on the environment.
C. Lock-Down Life
A single picture of individuals or groups or subjects observed during the lockdown period
Photograph Eligibility Criteria:
1. Any photographs must be taken only with a mobile device (phone or tablet)
2. Photographs must not include restricted locations or areas
3. Photographs must not include horrific or mature contents
4. All Photographs taken must have a date timestamp between 4th July 2021 - 12th July 2021.
5. Photograph size must not exceed 10 Mb
6. No use of advanced photo editing software other than mobiles apps
7. No image scaling and changes to the original resolution
8. Must be uploaded in JPEG format with high-quality compression as the contest team will use
winning images for high-quality reproduction.
9. Only single-frame photographs allowed i.e. Stitched panoramas, either produced in-camera or with
image editing software are not allowed.
10. All photographs uploaded must be in the original pixel size (unless cropped)
11. The content of a picture must not be altered by adding, rearranging, reversing, distorting, or
removing people and/or objects from within the frame. However, cropping that removes
extraneous details is permitted. All such edited photographs must also include the original ones
during submission.
12. Adjustments of color or conversion to grayscale that do not alter content are permitted. However,
Changes in color may not result in significant changes in hue, to such an extent that the processed
colors diverge from the original colors. All such edits must also include the original images. All

All participants are requested to read the guidelines before making the submissions.Judging Process:
The judging process for IIMS mobile lockdown mobile photography contest will begin on 10th July
2021. The jury will have four members 1-college management, 1-expert photographer, 1-expert designer,
A 1-Contest team member, who will judge the entries in several rounds over a week from 10th July - 17th
July 2021. The criterion for judging entries is a combination of photographer's creativity, visual skills,
knowledge of mobile technology & imaging skills
All photographs for finals, under each category, will be published for 48 hours of voting. All votes will be
public and will be counted unique across all published platforms. The number of votes (likes) will be
converted into popularity ratings and will be measured out of 50%. The remaining 50% will be evaluated
by a judging panel comprising only expert photographers & designers. The winner will be declared based
on the highest scores having totaled the public’s vote and the Jury’s evaluation. Each category of the
contest will have one definite winner.
Contest Rules & Terms:
● Any photographs not meeting the mentioned photograph eligibility criteria will be removed from
the contest
● Entries are only accepted via provided forms and submission links, any other mode of submission
is not accepted.
● The photographer must be the author of the pictures submitted and must be the copyright holder
of all submitted pictures.
● Participants, by submitting the images/photographs, assert that they have the right or
authorization to submit images to the Mobile Photography Contest and that the images submitted
are their original work and do not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third
parties.
● Only one picture per submission per category. However, participants can make multiple
submissions. Pictures submitted more than once (duplicate) or a submission containing multiple
pictures will be removed from the contest.
● Pictures must not show any other details other than date-timestamp. (However, participants may
include their name in the image metadata). All inscribed date-timestamp must not be at the
image's center.
● Participants assert that all submitted photographs have been shot and/or edited (processed with
mobile apps) or otherwise created with any and all known mobile phone and tablet devices only.
Using other regular or advanced cameras, desktop software, and laptop/desktop pcs is not
permitted. Entries that do not conform to these rules will be disqualified.
● All submitted pictures must have a short description not exceeding 300 words explaining an
object(s) in the frame or the message the picture depicts
● All pictures must have accurate captions, written in English only, and contain all the information
described in the guidance on captions.
● Participants must provide their original file as recorded by the camera for all images that proceed
to the final stages of the contest. These files will be requested and studied confidentially between
3rd-10th July. Failure to provide these files when requested will lead to the exclusion of the entry.
● In the same period, the contest team may contact participants to verify their captions and metadata
● Participants hold the contest team, college management, and judges harmless from any and all
claims of liability resulting from the participation or the publication of the photographs.
● Participants grant the contest team, college management, and judges the right to use submitted
images for promotional purposes, to feature or showcase the contest via digital and print media.
● Entry also constitutes permission to use the Participant’s name, social media handles for promotional
and publicity purposes.
● The contest team reserves the right to adjust these rules within reason and in accordance with
standard practices followed or as further dictated by the experts or the jury team.
● Participant agrees to be bound by all terms and conditions as established herein.
